This film Is released in three languages    : tamil, hindi, telugu
It is a Indian science fiction film. This film is the direct continuation of the 2010 film(Enthiran)

Development:

Shankar held initial discussions with kamal hassan, Aamir khan and vikram about acting in the film but none of the actors signed to act on the film. Then the team spoke with the Hollywood actor Arnold Schwarzenegger for the role who agreed to work but later Akshay kumar was marked to portray the role in which Schwarzenegger was initially considered.
 
Music:

A.R. Rahman will compose the music of the film. While the soundtrack will include at least 5 songs, only one song will be played in the film.

Release:

2.0 is scheduled to be released around Diwali in mid-October 2017.

Shooting:

  • An official launch event was about to held on dec 12 2015 along with Rajinikanth birthday but as the crew chose to avoid publicity.thmol71hz7
  • The team began its first schedule with shooting on dec 16 2015 at a set erected in the outskirts of Chennai at EVP world.
  • Akshay kumar began shooting in Chennai at the beginning of march 2016.
  • The team moved to Delhi to hold a 45 day schedule, continuing on from the same scene with the military tanks that were shot in Chennai.
  • Rajini then joined the team in Delhi at the end of march to continue shooting with the climax being filmed.
  • By june 2016, Shankar revealed that after 100 days of shoot, scenes including the climax and 2 major action sequences had been completed and that the film is 50% complete.
  • Due to Rajini illness he returned to set in early oct, after a break of 4 month.
